King Legacy's road to level 5,450 is long, and most beginners make it longer than it needs to be: grinding on the wrong island, scattering stat points across three damage types, or eating the first weak fruit they find under a tree. This guide fixes all three. By the end you will know the fastest quest route through the seas, how Beli and Gems actually work, and where every resource should go first. Start with the free boosts on our King Legacy codes page before you play a single quest.

How King Legacy works

King Legacy is Sea King Games' One Piece-inspired action RPG. You sail between islands, take quests, fight bosses, and build a character around a devil fruit, a sword, a fighting style and a race. Progression is measured in levels — the cap currently sits at 5,450 — and every island is built for a specific level range, with its own quest giver, enemies and boss. Quests are the main source of experience by a wide margin, and the compass icon beside your HP bar points you to the island you should be on next.

Your damage comes from one of three stat families — Melee, Sword or Fruit — backed by Defense. Each level awards 3 stat points, and the stat you feed is the one that hits hard, so a focused build beats a spread one. Two currencies run the game: Beli, earned from quests and bosses, buys fruits, swords and fighting styles, while scarcer Gems pay for premium fruits, gacha rolls, race rerolls and awakening. Devil fruits come in three types — Paramecia, Logia and Zoan — and five rarities from Common to Legendary. One anime rule applies in full: eat a fruit and you can no longer swim.

Getting started — codes, quests and your first real fruit

Step 1

Redeem codes before your first quest. Open the Menu under your HP bar, tap the Shop icon and scroll to the Enter Code box at the bottom. Codes hand out Beli, Gems, stat resets and 2x EXP boosts — but only start a boost when ready to grind, because its timer keeps running.

Step 2

Live on the quest board. Starter Island carries you to about level 50; from there, always have a quest active and only fight the enemies it names. Wandering kills give a fraction of the experience, and the compass points you to the right island when yours dries up.

Step 3

Spend stat points with a plan. Put points into Defense and the one damage stat that matches your weapon — Fruit for a devil fruit, Sword for a blade, Melee for a fighting style. Points scattered across all three leave you weak at everything.

Step 4

Save your quest Beli for a real fruit. The Black Market on Starter Island sells random fruit rolls for Beli, and the shop stock rotates. Aim for wide-area attacks for clearing quest mobs, or a Logia, whose body lets weaker enemies' hits pass through. Tree spawns are mostly weak commons.

Step 5

Set your spawn and sail in order. Talk to the set-spawn NPC on every new island and buy a boat early — the sail back after a death is long. Move on at the top of an island's level range; enemies a few islands ahead will flatten you, not level you.

Progressing — the three seas, awakening and races

The First Sea runs from level 0 to 2,250 and ends with an unlock quest, not just a level. Speak to Traveler behind the big building on War Island, then hunt the fish-men at Fishland — their boss, the Seasoned Fishman, can drop the Map Traveler wants. Deliver it, speak to him again, and the Elite Pirate at Starter Island teleports you to the Second Sea. There (2,250 to 4,000) the game opens up: Sea Kings roam the open water leaving chests of Gems, fruits and swords; fruit awakening unlocks — beat the Awakening boss, then pay Gems per move for fruits such as Magma, Quake, Light, Ice and Venom; and races can evolve to V2 from level 3,000.

At level 4,000 the Third Sea opens: speak to The Squid, defeat the Kraken Tentacle, and speak to him again. This is the endgame — the strongest bosses, a dungeon with three difficulty levels, and the final stretch to level 5,450, where races reach V3. Wherever you are, Gems also come from the Golden Arena and sea-event chests, so free players still have a steady supply.

Where to spend first

Beli comes and goes, but Gems are the resource beginners waste. This is the order that gets you strong fastest.

Spend priorityWhy it comes in this order
Codes — free, always firstThey cost nothing and pay out Beli, Gems, stat resets and 2x EXP. Everything else here gets cheaper or faster once claimed.
A grinding fruitYour fruit is your leveling speed. A wide-area or Logia fruit clears quest mobs far faster than any early sword, earning its price back in hours saved.
A sword or style that matches your statsOnly worth buying once your points are committed. A blade scaling with the Sword stat you are leveling multiplies your damage; a mismatched one is decoration.
Race reroll — laterHector, found in safe zones in every sea, rerolls your race for 35 Gems. Races give useful buffs — Fish and Sea Beast in the water, Mink for speed — but they matter only once your build works.
An awakening fundAwakening costs Gems, move by move, in the Second Sea. Arriving empty-handed means weeks of farming before your fruit gets its upgraded moves.

The pattern: free resources first, then whatever speeds up earning, then luxuries. Players who stall usually did it backwards.

6 tips to progress faster

1. Never grind without a quest. Quest hand-ins are the real experience; killing unrequested enemies levels you at a fraction of the speed.

2. Do not eat the first fruit you find. Tree spawns are mostly commons, and swapping fruits is never free. Hold out for area damage — it carries your First Sea.

3. Stack your boosts. Save 2x EXP codes for sessions of back-to-back quest hand-ins, ideally on a fresh island. A boost burned while sailing is wasted.

4. Fight at your level, not above it. Island ranges matter — that is what the compass is for. Stronger enemies kill you faster than you learn, and deaths cost the sail back.

5. Set spawn on every island. Five seconds removes the game's worst punishment. Half the 'grind' new players complain about is sailing back from Starter Island.

6. Bank your Gems. Early gacha rolls are tempting and usually a mistake. Saved Gems become your awakening, your race reroll and your premium fruit later.

King Legacy — FAQ

What is the fastest way to level up in King Legacy?

Always be on a quest. Take the quest for your level range, kill exactly what it asks for, hand it in and repeat — and use the compass icon to move islands the moment your quests run dry. Switch on 2x EXP boosts from codes only during these sessions, and grind with a fruit that has wide-area attacks so each quest finishes faster.

How do you get to the Second Sea in King Legacy?

Reach level 2,250, then speak to Traveler behind the big building on War Island in the First Sea. He asks for a Map, which drops from the fish-men at Fishland — the Seasoned Fishman boss is your target. Take the Map back, speak to Traveler again, then talk to the Elite Pirate at Starter Island to teleport to the Second Sea.

What should I spend Gems on in King Legacy?

Save them. Gems are the game's scarce currency and their best uses are all ahead of you: premium fruits at the Black Market, awakening your fruit's moves in the Second Sea, and a 35-Gem race reroll from Hector once your build is set. Burning them on early gacha rolls is the most common beginner mistake.

Which devil fruit is best for a beginner in King Legacy?

Pick area damage over rarity. Fruits with wide, spammable attacks clear quest mobs fastest, and Logia fruits add a safety net because weaker enemies cannot hit your body properly. The community wiki's beginner picks — Flame, Ice, Dark and Magma — all follow that logic. Avoid eating random commons that spawn under trees; you will want to replace them within days.
