Grow a Garden has traded its Halloween pumpkins for pyramids. The Anubis Part 1 update went live on Saturday 7 November, the same day the Ghoul Garden Halloween event closed, and it turns the garden into an Egyptian dig site: a new weather cycle every hour, a boss fight built around eight falling obelisks, and an archaeology dig with 20 rewards to uncover. Seven new plants and four new pets arrived with it — and the "Part 1" in the name tells you this is only the first half of the story.
At the start of every hour, Anubis weather rolls in for ten minutes, and during that window your plants have a chance to pick up the Hieroglyphic mutation. That mutation is the engine of the whole event: sell Hieroglyphic-mutated fruit and you earn Anubis Coins, the event currency, which you spend in the Anubis Event Shop. The shop refreshes every hour with new stock, and more of its items unlock as you progress through the Ancient Archaeology dig — so the coins you earn early are worth banking until the better shelves open. If the hourly refresh is not showing what you want, you can pay Sheckles to restock it yourself.
The bigger spectacle comes every second hour, when a different kind of Anubis weather arrives and a boss spawns. Eight ancient Obelisks rain down from the sky and crash around the map, and the server has to work together to power all eight of them up. Finish the job and a random Anubis Relic unlocks for everyone on the server, granting a temporary garden buff — and there are eight different relics to land, so the reward changes from one boss fight to the next. This is the update's one genuinely cooperative moment, and it only happens on the two-hour rhythm, so it is worth planning your play sessions around the clock.
The third system is the slowest burn. An excavation site has appeared in the garden, and every 30 minutes Archaeologist Archie names a trait he is looking for. Submit fruit of the right weight carrying that trait and the bar fills — and as it does, the sand and dirt are gradually brushed away from whatever is buried underneath. Fill the bar completely and you open the buried object to claim your reward, with 20 rewards to unlock in total before progress restarts and the dig begins again. The patch notes promise new seeds, pets and rewards among those 20, so the dig is not a side activity: it is also the key that unlocks the deeper shelves of the event shop. The new roster is Egyptian through and through. Seven plants joined the game — Anubis Bramble, Prosperity Palm, Pharaoh's Eye, Tomb Lily, Papyrus, Wraproot and Ankh Flower — and the Bramble is the one to chase first: every 10 minutes it mutates a nearby fruit with Hieroglyphic, and it has a 2.5% chance to apply the rarer Blackout mutation to a nearby Hieroglyphic fruit. Four new pets arrived too — the Ancient Sphinx, Hiero Scorpion, Uraeus and Apshait — all four hatch from the new Anubis Egg. The update also adds the Anubis Crate, a Hieroglyphic Radar and a Hieroglyphic Staff, plus new Anubis cosmetics and a reworked Sell All Pets button alongside lag fixes and performance improvements.
What to do first: be in your garden at the top of every hour — the ten-minute Anubis weather window is the only way to earn Hieroglyphic fruit, and every Anubis Coin starts there. Second, plant an Anubis Bramble as soon as you can get one: a free Hieroglyphic mutation every ten minutes keeps the coin income going between weather windows. Third, do not miss the two-hour boss cycle — rally your server when the Obelisks fall, since the relic buff goes to everyone and the eight-obelisk activation needs the whole server pulling together. The wiki lists the next weekly update for 14 November, which is when Part 2 is most likely to land, so treat this week as the setup: bank coins, finish the dig's 20 rewards, and get your Brambles planted before the second half arrives. We will update this story when the developers confirm what Part 2 brings — and the Grow a Garden codes page will be re-checked the moment the next update goes live.
Reported by Sportskeeda (7 November 2026) from the official patch notes — the 7 November release date, hourly Anubis weather and the Hieroglyphic mutation, Anubis Coins and the hourly event shop, the eight-Obelisk boss and relics, the Ancient Archaeology dig and its 20 rewards, and the full list of new plants, pets and items; the 7 November release as version 1.75.0 and the next weekly update on 14 November 2026 cross-checked against the Grow a Garden wiki (verified 8 November 2026).
